What is this Change Confirmation Form for?
This Change Confirmation Form (CCF) is for use with a construction contract or contract for any building or engineering work.
You can fill it in very easily and use it as a documentary record of any change that is made to the work. It contains a description of the alteration plus the cost and time implications. There is space for the contract price and completion date to be adjusted.
Keep a written record of all agreed changes. This way, you will do a lot to avoid the risk of disputes over the contract at a later date. In any event, it is a good discipline to have every variation that involves extra time or money signed off.
You should use a fresh copy of the form for each variation, and be sure that both parties sign it. But as our document is in easy-to-amend Word format, you only need to buy it once.
You can use it with any of our construction contracts whether you are a self=builder or the client and use our document B152 or a building contractor who uses our B137 which has standard terms and a quotation form.
For general guidance on issues that need to be considered in the contracts for a building project, see our free document Guidance Notes for a Home Builder Z165.
