Terminating an employee's contract and redundancy are not straightforward procedures and we have some templates designed to help employers through the process.

It is usually better to reach agreement with an ex-employee and our Employment Termination Agreement, document E132, is in the form of a letter and ueful when the departure is reasonably amicable.

For a senior employee whose contract is terminated, a more formal Compromise Agreement, E133,  may be needed to avoid a reference to an employment tribunal.
